Placards for Palestinians

I make the placards for vigils and marches – I print an original picture and paint the slogan over it. I back it with card and attach a string so it can be worn.

Women in Black is a world-wide network of women committed to peace with justice and actively opposed to injustice, war, militarism and violence. For over two years every Saturday one of the London groups holds vigil for an hour outside Friends House opposite Euston Station and every Saturday several of my placards are worn by the protesting women.

"Palestinians in the West Bank are feeling very scared and anxious.

"We are hearing sirens and explosions, but we don't have any shelters to run to. We feel trapped in this regional war.

"We are also facing collective punishment and movement restrictions, which directly impact our daily life and access to services.

"Patients and doctors have been unable to reach healthcare at a time when settler attacks are at their highest levels. Despite this, we are trying everything we can to continue serving those we support."
